Frequently Asked Questions - Financial Planning
How long does the planning process take?
As with everything, the time to complete the initial plan can vary greatly depending on the complexity of your situation, how quickly you provide information that is needed, and other factors.
Am I required to invest with you if you prepare a plan for me?
No, hiring us to prepare a financial plan does not obligate you in any way to move forward with any of our other services. In most cases, however, we find that our clients choose to utilize our implementation and monitoring services.
What do you charge for a financial plan?
Fees for financial planning vary by the complexity of your situation but a typical plan would cost around $2,500. We will quote you a fee once we get an idea of the complexity. One half of the fee is due prior to the commencement of the planning and the balance is due at the plan presentation.
How often should I update my financial plan?
We recommend reviewing your plan on a regular basis, at least every couple of years. In the event that you have a major life change, however, you should re-visit the plan at that time.
Will you prepare my legal documents and/or my tax returns?
We do not provide legal or tax preparation services, but we will work closely with your existing advisors.
